But, I think legislation is the only effective way judges will change their rulings. Kyra’s Law was just introduced in NY. Many of the organizations I follow are saying this is a big step in protecting women and children in Domestic violence related divorces. It will put the children first and take a case by case approach. Here’s one of the many articles praising the bill and laying out some of the specifics of Kyra’s Law:
